Pitcairn Council Meeting May 27, 2008
Council President Jack Bova announced the remaining vacancies on the following boards; Recreation - 2; Appeals - 3. Anyone interested in occupying these positions are asked to submit a letter of interest to the borough manager.
A motion was made to appoint Tom Edwards of 920 Wood Street to the vacancy board. A vote was called; All Ayes.
A motion was made to advertise for a part time clerk in the borough office. A vote was called; All Ayes.
Various Borough personnel met with representatives who sold the borough our security camera's on the proper way to operate them.
A motion was made to merge the Environmental Committee and the Shade Tree Committee with the newly formed Beautification Committee. A vote was Called; All Ayes.
Councilman Kurt Seibel gave an update as to the progress of the comprehensive plan, along with announcing the new upgrades to the borough's website, and community channel.
A motion was made to hire 2 full time police officers, Michael Morency, and Robert Collasius. A role call vote was taken; 4 Ayes, 2 abstentions. Councilman Dick was absent from the meeting.
A motion to transfer the assets of the Police and Non-Uniform Pension Plans from U.S. Assets Management to Huntington Bank was tabled to allow Councilman Toth time to review the program outlined by Huntington, as he was absent from that presentation meeting.
A motion was made by Councilman Mignogna to begin the application process for the Allegheny Together Program. A vote was called; All Ayes.
